                    Abdominoplasty - Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty - tummy tuck can help reduce or eliminate the extra tissue and tighten loose tummy muscles. The views on this page illustrate the appearance before a tummy tuck procedure (on the left). They show many of the characteristics that occur after child bearing: weak muscles, laxity of the tissues and a "bulge" on the lower tummy that just won't go away with exercise and conditioning.

The views of the same woman after tummy tuck (on the right side) show the impressive degree of reshaping that can be achieved with the procedure. Dr. Grenga will "custom design" the techniques which best suits your abdominal restoration. A combination of muscle tightening, removal of excess skin or stretch damaged areas, and lipopsuction for those  stubborn areas that resist weight loss efforts are combined to make your tummy tuck the right combo for your shape.

Many of our patients have found that they cannot get rid of the excess tummy  no matter how hard they try. Diet, exercise, and conditioning are often just not able to reduce the additional pounds from the tummy, waist and hips. All  of these areas can be reshaped thanks to the abdominoplasty procedure.Dr. Grenga uses his extensive experience with plastic surgery of the torso to rejuvenate what for many is the toughest part of the body to shape up. He'll remove the excess skin, tighten up the tummy muscles to refine the shape of the waist, and use suction assisted lipectomy (you've heard this called liposuction also). In many instances, he can use an existing scar if it lies low on the abdomen, such as a scar from a previous Caesarean section or hysterectomy. The examples of abdominoplasty shown are individuals, who like yourself, have once wondered "What can you do to improve my shape, Dr. Grenga?"

If you've lost weight and just cannot seem to lose the rest of the extra tissue, then the abdominoplasty procedure may be able to help you obtain the contour you'd like to have. By combining an extensive experience with tummy tuck operations over the last two decades, Dr. Grenga specializes in body contouring to recreate a more youthful tummy. As the photos indicate, in many instances, the entire torso appears more balanced, even athletic, after a tummy tuck. Usually, a woman can resume her conditioning exercises by four weeks after her operation. Dr. Grenga emphasizes that because operation is not a subsitute for healthy eating habits, exercise and conditioning, tummy tuck is not a weight loss procedure. In most instances, tummy tuck compliments the results that have been achieved with weight loss.
